Introduction
Some venues have a soul of their own, and Casa Félix is undoubtedly one of them. As a wedding photographer, I am always looking for locations that are more than just a pretty backdrop—places that allow for deep, cinematic portraits. Christina and Victor’s wedding, held this past October 22nd, was the perfect example of how the autumn season, a historic masía, and a stylish couple can create a truly timeless atmosphere.
The day threatened rain, but as you will see in the gallery, the weather only served to soften the light and make the stone walls of this ancient fortification feel even more cozy and romantic.

The venue: Casa Félix, a historic gem in the Garraf
If you are planning a destination wedding near Barcelona but want to completely disconnect from the city noise, Casa Félix in Olivella is a hidden gem.
What makes this venue unique is not just its location—15 minutes from Sitges and 40 minutes from Barcelona airport—but its versatility for destination weddings. We are talking about a masía (Catalan farmhouse) with roots dating back to the 13th century, restored with exquisite taste.
For Christina and Victor, having their loved ones close was key. Casa Félix was ideal because it offers accommodation for up to 50 guests across 21 ensuite bedrooms (including a stunning Master Suite with a freestanding bathtub). This turned their wedding into a full weekend experience, from relaxing by the infinity pool overlooking the Garraf Natural Park to the ceremony in the intimate stone courtyards.
The Vibe: Earth tones, soft light, and editorial elegance
Christina and Victor brought a style that fit organically with the season. The wedding color palette played with autumn hues: bridesmaids in terracotta dresses and Victor breaking the mold with a sharp burgundy suit that contrasted beautifully with the grey stone of the masía.
The ceremony felt intimate and grounded, framed by the house’s ancient wooden doors. Although we had to bring out the umbrellas at one point, it actually created a unique opportunity for photos. The soft, overcast light was perfect for skin tones, allowing us to create portraits that feel calm and fashion-forward.
The amazing planning by Barcelona Brides ensured everything flowed perfectly. The dinner, held inside the stone halls, was enhanced by the floral designs from Gofloral, adding a touch of wild elegance that matched the historic surroundings perfectly.
My approach: Cinematic portraits & natural light
My favorite part of this wedding was, without a doubt, the portrait session. Casa Félix offers incredible pockets of light if you know where to look.
Instead of rushing through the photos, we took our time to use the architecture of the house. I focused on the moody, directional light coming through the old windows to create portraits that feel more like movie stills than traditional wedding photos. You’ll see this in the shots of Victor by the window or Christina with the lamp—it’s all about shadow, texture, and connection.
I also love playing with movement to capture the feeling of the day. Using slower shutter speeds allowed me to add an artistic blur to their walking shots, emphasizing the romance and the «dream-like» quality of their wedding in the Catalan countryside.
